Fire on Kulik Express causes panic Near Malda, No loss reported

Panic ensued among passengers when a fire broke out on the Kulik Express traveling from Radhikapur to Kolkata on Saturday. The incident occurred between Chamagram and Khaltipur stations after the train had crossed Malda Town station.

Smoke was observed emanating from the train, specifically the wheel of the Down 13054 Kulik Express, triggering an immediate response from both passengers and railway authorities. According to sources, the fire was a result of 'brake binding' in a general coach, but after thorough tests and repairs, the train resumed its journey to Kolkata after approximately one and a half hours.

Swift action was taken, and after comprehensive tests, railway authorities confirmed that there were no casualties or losses in the incident. Following the necessary repairs, the Kulik Express resumed its journey to Kolkata approximately one and a half hours later.
